In case global circumstances weren’t strange enough right now, Lindsay Lohan has decided to use this moment to mount her long-overdue pop comeback.
After a week of teasers, the former Disney star turned Greek property mogel dropped her new single ‘Back To Me’ on Friday (3 April) – and you know what? It’s not half bad.
A sunnily reflective electro-pop number that wouldn’t sound out of place being blasted from the terraces of Lindsay’s Mykonos Beach Club, ‘Back To Me’ touches on the star’s troubled past.
“I used to blame me when shit got crazy” Lindsay sings over tropical house beats. “I can’t think too much ’bout what they say”
The 33-year-old adds: “I know I drink too much, but it’s okay.”
Opening up about the song’s rather personal subject matter, Lohan says: “The song is about rediscovering and accepting oneself, shutting out the noise and moving forward and letting the past go. Living in the now.”
Former Mean Girls star Lindsay signed a record deal with Casablanca and Republic Records last summer, and in January promised her first album in 15 years was on the way.
The former starlet’s first record, Speak, was released in December 2004 at the height of Disney fame, peaking at number four in the Billboard 200 album chart, quickly going platinum and spawning singles ‘Rumours’ and ‘Over’.
Lohan followed it up with a the less successful A Little More Personal (Raw), a year later, before shelving her music career – until now…
