Looking: The Movie gets UK premiere date

By Will Stroude

Despite being cancelled after just two seasons, HBO’s Looking picked up a sizeable gay following around the world.

To provide some closure for fans who were left wanting more when the second season ended, the show, which follows the lives of young gay adults in San Fransico, announced a wrap up film to answer the burning questions fans were left with when it left our screens last year.

While US fans were treated to the film this weekend (23 July), British fans have had to wait a little longer to see what’s become of Patrick and the rest of the gang. But now, the UK air date has finally been announced, and fans can get stuck into the film next Tuesday, August 2, at 10:15pm on Sky Atlantic.

According to an official synopsis, Looking: The Movie “wraps up the story of three close  friends living in San Francisco who explore the options available to a new generation of gay men seeking fulfillment in love and life.

In the film, Patrick returns to the city for the first time in almost a year to celebrate a momentous event with his old friends. In the process, he must face the unresolved relationships he left behind and make difficult choices about what’s important to him”.

Judging by the reactions of American fans following the film’s US airing over the weekend, it’s not one to miss…
