Madonna publicly drags DaBaby over anti-gay and HIV comments: ‘Know your facts’

Madonna has publicly dragged DaBaby for his recent comments about gay men and HIV.
The ‘Material Girl’ took to Instagram to express her disgust following the rapper’s outburst at Miami’s Rolling Loud festival on Sunday (25 July 2021).
Speaking on stage, he told fans: “If you didn’t show up today with HIV, AIDS, any of them deadly sexually transmitted diseases that’ll make you die in two, three weeks, then put your cellphone light up.”
He added: “Fellas, if you ain’t sucking d*** in the parking lot, put your cellphone lighter up.”
“A message to DaBaby”
Tagging the rapper on Instagram and sharing a video of him performing, Madonna said in a caption today: “A message to DaBaby – if you’re going to make hateful remarks to the LGBTQ+ community about HIV/AIDS then know your facts.
“After decades of hard won scientific research— there are now life saving medicines available to children born with HIV, to people who contract HIV through blood transfusions, dirty needles or exchange of bodily fluids. These new ARV’s can keep a person with AIDS alive for the rest of their lives!!! AID’s is not transmitted by standing next to someone in a crowd [sic].
“I want to put my cellphone lighter up and pray for your ignorance, No one dies of AIDS in 2 or 3 weeks anymore. Thank God 🙏.”

Madonna continued: “And your sexist remarks about Ladies who’s pussies need to smell like water only encourage more discrimination against women who fight daily against the oppression of living under the constraints of the Male Gaze.
“People like you are the reason we are still living in a world divided by fear. All Human beings should be treated with dignity and respect regardless of race, gender, sexual preference or religious beliefs. AMEN. @dababy.”
Elton John and Dua Lipa have also publicly slammed DaBaby over his comments.
The star has since addressed the backlash on Twitter, saying: “Anybody who done ever been effected by AIDS/HIV y’all got the right to be upset, what I said was insensitive even though I have no intentions on offending anybody. So my apologies. But the LGBT community… I ain’t trippin on y’all, do you. y’all business is y’all business.”
In an Instagram video, he added: “Me and all my fans at the show, the gay ones and the straight ones, we turnt the fuck up.
“I said: ‘If you don’t got AIDS, put a cellphone light up.’ I said: ‘If you ain’t suck a n**** dick in the parking lot, put your cellphones light up.’ So I could drop my next song. I wasn’t going on no rant.”
