Madonna teases new song called ‘Messiah’

By Nick Levine

Madonna has teased a new song called Messiah, promising fans that it is “coming soon”.

The Queen of Pop posted an image of some sheet music for the song on Instagram earlier this morning (July 2), followed by a video clip of an orchestra playing strings on Messiah.

In recent months, Madonna has used her Instagram to reveal the diverse palette of collaborators she has assembled for her next album. The list now comprises Sky Ferreira/Haim producer Ariel Rechtshaid, Wrecking Ball co-writer MoZella, MIA collaborator Diplo, DJ/producer Avicii, former Lady Gaga collaborator Martin Kierszenbaum, cult pop singer Natalia Kills, US hit-maker Toby Gad and R&B producer Symbolyc One.

She has also hinted that she might be working with UK dance duo Disclosure in a series of recent Instagram posts.

In May, she appeared to tease a new single called Unapologetic Bitch, and has used the #unapologeticbitch hashtag repeatedly on Instagram.

Last month (June) her longtime collaborator William Orbit revealed that he has heard some of Madonna’s new album – and offered a concise verdict on its quality.

Madonna’s last studio album, MDNA, was released in 2012 and reached number one in the US and UK. She scored her 13th and most recent UK chart-topping single with 4 Minutes in 2008.

Meanwhile, Orbit recently unveiled a series of alternate mixes and demos from the sessions for MDNAclick here to listen to them.
