Madonna to headline Glastonbury 2019?
The Queen of Pop is reportedly being lined for the festival's return next year.

Madonna has almost done it all during her 35 years in music, but a performance at Glastonbury Festival remains notably absent from the Queen of Pop’s stellar CV.
That could all be about to change, however: If ‘sources’ are to be believed, Glastonbury organisers Michael and Emily Eavis are currently lining up Madge for a headline appearance at Worthy Farm when the festival returns next summer after a one-year break.
Sources close to the festival have told The Sun: “Preparations are already well under way after they’ve taken this year off, and Michael and his daughter Emily Eavis want to make it better than ever.”
“They have always been massive fans of Madonna and know she would put on an unforgettable show.
“It was really important that they had a diverse line-up for the 2019 festival after criticism of previous ones.”
Next year’s Glastonbury Festival takes place from 26–30 June, and should Madonna end up gracing the Pyramid Stage she’ll join just a handful of female headliners including Adele, Florence and the Machine and Beyonce.
“With this being a fallow year they want to secure a really big name to drive ticket sales, the source continued.
“Thanks to all her huge hits, they are convinced that she would be a real crowd pleaser on the Pyramid Stage.”
The coup of getting Madonna to Devon would be a long time coming for organise Michael Eavis, who first admitted the pop icon was on his wishlist back in 2000.
He said at the time: “I would really like to get Madonna, I tell you that. I might spend a bit of time working on that actually…
“I’d be very keen on getting Madonna. That’s the one to do.”
Given that Madonna is currently in Lisbon working on music for the follow-up to 2015’s Rebel Heart, the timing would certainly fit nicely. Looks like we’ll have to watch this space…
