Marcus Collins announces first solo UK tour
By Sam Rigby
Marcus Collins has announced details of his first solo UK tour.
The X Factor alumnus will play 14 shows across the UK in September and October ahead of the release of his second studio album.
He has promised a Motown-inspired show, with his own interpretations of recent pop hits by the likes of Sam Smith. He will also cover Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Anita Baker and Luther Vandross.
Collins said: “To me, Motown is the epitome of what music is all about. A lot of the music we listen to today owes its roots to the Motown era.
“The passion, the hooks, the melodies, the backing vocals, the styling; to me, Motown is second to none. This new show is about celebrating those artists who were inspired by that era and putting my twist on those classic songs.”
