Marcus Collins set for West End debut in Kinky Boots

Former X Factor runner-up Marcus Collins today announced he’ll make his West End debut later this year, joining the cast of Kinky Boots direct from Broadway.

The musical, penned by Harvey Fierstein and Cyndi Lauper, tells the story of Charlie Price, who inherits a shoe factory from his father. To save the business, Charlie forms an unlikely partnership with cabaret performer and drag queen, Lola, and the pair hatch a plan to produce a line of high-heeled boots.

No word yet on whether Collins will take on one of the leading roles in the production – the Kinky Boots website has him listed under ‘Ensemble’.

This isn’t Collins’ first appearance in a musical – he previously starred in the UK tour of Hairspray.
