By Josh Haggis

Mariah Carey has teased details of her upcoming Las Vegas residency.

Earlier this year, the singer made an appearance on The Ellen Show to announce that she will perform some of her biggest Number One hits – including We Belong Together, Emotions and Fantasy – at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, replacing current performer Celine Dion, who is on a break until 2016.

In a new interview, the singer says that rehearsing her classic songs is helping her “reconnect” with them again.

“I have devoted my life to traveling the world, meeting fans and performing across the globe,” she told Vegas Player. “Las Vegas will allow me to showcase my music in a way it’s never been presented before.”

“Revisiting these songs for the show has really let me reconnect with them,” added the legendary diva. “The power of music has guided me throughout my life, for as long as I can remember, and I’m hoping fans will be able to share the joy of music with me and take that feeling home with them.”

Carey kicks off her Vegas residency Caesars Palace on May 9.

Meanwhile, reports emerged this week that the Thirsty singer is set to star in a big budget Christmas movie – find out more here.
