Marina and the Diamonds slams Charli XCX photoshoot for ripping off her image
By Ben Kelly
Marina and the Diamonds has slammed a new Charli XCX photoshoot for seemingly ripping off her image.
Charli had been shot by Charlotte Rutherford for a new Impulse deodorant campaign, and the photographer then shared some of the images on her Instagram, including one which clearly came to the attention of the ‘Primadonna’ singer, who quickly commented underneath.
Marina herself commented underneath Rutherford’s picture: “That FROOT looks familiar!” – a reference to the artwork from her last album FROOT, which was a combination of old Hollywood glamour, and neon pop art tones.
Marina then sent a tweet which was clearly in relation to the incident, saying, “Imagery is artistic property. Please respect your fellow artists.” It has since been liked over 4,000 times.
Imagery is artistic property. Please respect your fellow artists.

Marina is firm friends with the Boom Clap singer, so we can only assume the “fellow artist” in question is the photographer and not Charli herself, but the whole exchange is more than a little awkward if you ask us.
Rutherford has now deleted the Charli image in question, but other images from the shoot remain on her page (minus the fruit) if you want to check them out.
