Mark Wright confirmed for ‘Strictly Come Dancing’
By Josh Haggis
Mark Wright is to compete on the upcoming series of Strictly Come Dancing.
The former TOWIE star is the third male celebrity to be confirmed for the new series, which will begin next month (September) on BBC One.
“Doing Strictly is going to be so completely different from anything I’ve done before,” said the former Attitude cover star. “I’m the sort of guy who loves to bust out some moves at a party but I’m certainly not a natural dancer. Any of my friends would tell you that: they call me ‘Markey no-moves’.
“I’m genuinely petrified about dancing on national telly,” he continued, “but Strictly is such an amazing show to be a part of and I can’t wait to get stuck in and give it my all!”
Wright joins five other celebrities already confirmed for the show: recent Attitude cover star Thom Evans, Blue singer Simon Webbe, The Saturdays’ Frankie Bridge, Andy Murray’s mum Judy Murray and This Morning’s Alison Hammond.
Nine more celebrities will be announced before the series gets started next month – and according to a recent report, so-called “old duffers” have been banned by the BBC. Read the full story here.
