The Marvel Studios boss has confirmed that two LGBT characters will be introduced in future Marvel Cinematic Universe movies.
Kevin Feige was speaking with The Playlist when he addressed the lack of LGBT+ characters in the universe, despite there being many comic book characters who are openly gay including Ice Man and Deadpool, who is pansexual.
When asked: “When are we getting a gay, bi, LGBTQ out character in the MCU? Is it even in the works?”
To which Feige simply replied: “yes” before adding that the characters have both been seen before but are also completely new.
Hollywood has recently been slammed for not having any open LGBT characters and the MCU isn’t any different.
Tessa Thompson, who played Valkyrie in Thor: Ragnarok confirmed her character was bisexual over Twitter but also said the scene confirming her sexuality was cut.
She’s bi. And yes, she cares very little about what men think of her. What a joy to play! https://t.co/d0LZKTHCfL

Hopefully this is a step forward in the right direction.
