Marvel Studios President confirms rumours of gay superhero in ‘The Eternals’ movie are ‘accurate’
It was reported last month that Marvel Studios are looking for an LGBTQ actor to play the gay character

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has admitted the rumours of a gay superhero in The Eternals movie are ‘accurate’.
Last month, it was reported that Marvel Studios are actively looking for an LGBTQ actor to play a gay character in the upcoming movie Eternals, based on the Marvel comic series written by Jack Kirby.
Following the rumours, Kevin Feige told Entertainment Tonight that a LGBTQ superhero is ‘percolating’ into works.
And now, while speaking to io9, the Marvel Studios president confirmed that the rumoiurs are accurate and that they want to their movies to ‘reflect the audience’.
He said: “Well [the rumours are] accurate in that we’ve talked about [it for] a long time.
“You look at the success of Captain Marvel and Black Panther. We want the movies to reflect the audience and we want every member of our global audience to see themselves reflected on the screen.
“That’s what we’ve been doing for a long time. And certainly, that’s what we’re focusing on going forward.”
The Eternals – which is one of Marvel’s lesser known series – are a species of humans who were created to be the defenders of Earth, which lead to the inevitability of war against their destructive counterparts, the Deviants.
Although it’s not known which of The Eternals will be the openly gay superhero but some reports suggest it could be the character Hercules.
