Matt Bomer will star in the upcoming fifth season of American Horror Story, it has been announced.
It was confirmed during a panel event at PaleyFest in Hollywood over the weekend that the openly gay actor, who appeared briefly in last year’s Freak Show, will feature in a prominent role in American Horror Story: Hotel.
Bomer later confirmed the news on Twitter, telling fans how “excited” he is to be starring alongside another recently announced addition to the cast, pop star Lady Gaga.

Although details regarding their roles are being kept under wraps, series creator Ryan Murphy is said to be planning a large ‘reinvention’ for the show’s fifth season, which will be the first not to include Jessica Lange – though Murphy has admitted he is trying to persuade her to return.
