Marvel Cinematic Universe producer Stephen Broussard wants an LGBT character to be introduced.
Hollywood has recently been slammed for not having any open LGBT characters and the MCU isn’t any different.
Tessa Thompson, who played Valkyrie in Thor: Ragnarok confirmed her character was bisexual over Twitter but also said the scene confirming her sexuality was cut.
But now Broussard – who has worked on the likes of Doctor Strange, Captain America: The First Avenger and most recently Ant-Man and the Wasp – agreed the next step in the MCU is to introduce an LGBT character.
He told Den of Geek: “For sure, you will see that. I know it can be frustrating if you’re part of a group that wants to see more representation and the answer is always ‘stay tuned’.
“I can imagine that’s frustrating, but that is happening behind the scenes, you’re going to be seeing that more and more.
“Representation across individual groups in the years ahead.”
Marvel Comics are not short of LGBT characters with the likes of Iceman, Deadpool and Shatterstar all coming out.
