Nine new additions to the Game of Thrones cast have been revealed – including Tony Award-winning actor Jonathan Pryce.

US cable network HBO announced the batch of new characters for the show’s forthcoming fifth season with a video shown during the Game of Thrones panel interview at Comic-Con 2014 in San Diego last night (July 25).

Welsh actor Pryce – who has won two Tony Awards and two Olivier Awards for his stage work, and appeared alongside Madonna in the 1996 film version of Evita – will take on the role of The High Sparrow, a kind-hearted man who has served the poor in King’s Landing.

Meanwhile, British actor Deobia Oparei, who played Le Chocolat opposite Nicole Kidman in 2001’s Moulin Rouge!, will play Areo Hotah, the loyal leader of Doran Martell’s palace guard. New Zealand actress Keisha Castle-Hughes, who received an Oscar nomination at the age of 14 for her role in 2002’s Whale Rider, has joined the cast too and will play Obara Sand, the bastard daughter of Oberyn Martell and an Oldtown whore.

Also joining the cast are Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and Primeval actor Alexander Siddig, Enzo Cilenti (Guardians of the Galaxy, Kick-Ass 2), Jessica Henwick (Spirit Warriors), Italian actress Rosabell Laurenti Sellers, and rising stars Nell Tiger Free and Toby Sebastian.
