Meryl Streep, Nicole Kidman and Ariana Grande will star in Ryan Murphy’s new Netflix movie The Prom.
Back in April, the American Horror Story and Glee creator attended a charity performance of the hit Broadway musical which follows a teen in a same-sex relationship who wants to attend their school’s prom, but are not allowed to.
After the performance, Murphy confirmed he made a deal with Netflix to adapt the Broadway musical into a film and now some of the cast have been revealed it looks amazing.
According to Deadline, Meryl Streep will join James Corden, Nicole Kidman, Ariana Grande, Awkwafina, Keegan-Michael Key and Andrew Rannells in the new movie.
Murphy – who is working on the ninth season of American Horror Story – will direct and produce the feature movie.
It’s reported Streep, Corden, Kidman and Rannells are to play a quartet of theatre stars, while Awkwafina has been cast to play the group’s publicist Ms Sheldon.
The lead character Emma has yet to be cast but Grande will play the role of her girlfriend Alyssa and Key will play Streep’s love interest.
