Miley Cyrus ‘felt ridiculous’ playing Hannah Montana after she had sex.
The singer starred as the Disney character up until the age of 18 and in a new interview with Elle US, Cyrus opened up about why she decided to stop playing the much-loved character and said she decided after having sex.
She said: “I [wanted to stop being Hannah Montana] once I was 18 because it felt ridiculous.
“The minute I had sex, I was kind of like, ‘I can’t put the fucking wig on again’. It got weird. It just like… I was grown up.
“One time I went backstage at Disneyland, and Peter Pan was smoking a cigarette. And I was like, ‘That’s me. That’s the kind of dreams I’m crushing’.
“That’s how everyone felt with the bong video, but I’m not a Disney mascot. I’m a person.”
In the same interview Cyrus – who is pansexual and married to actor Liam Hemsworth – added that just because she is in a heterosexual relationship she is still attracted to women.
She said: “I think it’s very confusing to people that I’m married. But my relationship is unique.
“And I don’t know that I would ever publicly allow people in there because it’s so complex, modern and new that I don’t think we’re in a place where people would get it.”
