Nadiya wins Great British Bake Off 2015

It’s official: Nadiya Hussain is the winner of Great British Bake Off 2015.
It was a nail-biting final episode as the judges heaped praise on all three contestants – Nadiya, Tamal and Ian – during their final showstopper round, making it difficult predict who would win.
But it was fan favourite Nadiya’s sentimental choice to bake her own wedding cake that got her over the line, as she went up against Tamal’s spectacular take on a sticky toffee pudding – complete with ambitious spun sugar spiderweb – and Ian’s carrot cake, described by judge Paul Hollywood as “one of the best I’ve ever tasted.”
The trio emerged from the GBBO marquee for Nadiya to be crowned 2015 in front of a crowd of friends, family members and former contestants from this season.
“She’s going to be insufferable now, she’ll never shut up about it,” Tamal joked off his fellow contestant after the win.
“I’m never going to put boundaries on myself, I’m never going to say ‘maybe’. I can. And I will,” a tearful Nadiya said after her win.
While he may not have taken out the top prize, we must say there’s still a place in our hearts for the super-adorable Tamal – particularly after he revealed midway through the season that he’s gay and looking for love.
