NBC’s version of Constantine won’t be portrayed as bisexual

The team behind NBC’s Constantine have confirmed that John Constantine will not be portrayed as bisexual in the series.
The DC Comics character – who is also known as Hellblazer – is known for being a bisexual man in the original comic series, but executive producer Daniel Cerone said that he doesn’t see it as a crucial aspect of the character.
Speaking at the Television Critics Association’s semi-annual press tour on Sunday (July 13), he said: “In those comic books, John Constantine aged in real time. Within this tome of three decades [of comics] there might have been one or two issues where he’s seen getting out of bed with a man.
“So [maybe] 20 years from now? But there are no immediate plans.”
British actor Matt Ryan will portray John Constantine in the new series.
Constantine will debut on NBC on Friday, October 24.
