‘Neighbours’ introduces gay male stripper character

By Will Stroude

A new gay character is coming to Neighbours in the form of male stripper Aaron Brennan.

Played by actor and model Matt Wilson, Aaron will be introduced as the middle brother of established characters Mark and Tyler, and will make his onscreen debut in Ramsay St. later this month (June 1), reports DigitalSpy.

Wilson’s casting was first announced last month, but show bosses have now revealed more details about the character – a gay male stripper who’s set to make a memorable entrance when he’s booked to perform at a racy bingo night organised by Sheila Canning.

Promising romance for Aaron, producers have teased that his younger brother Tyler will attempt to set him up with Nate Kinski (Meyne Wyatt), who was previously in a relationship with recently-departed Chris Pappas, the show’s first gay male regular character.

26-year-old Matt Wilson originally qualified as a carpenter, and also modelled for the likes of Aussiebum before turning his hand to acting. He’ll be appearing on Aussie screens from June 16, and UK screens in the autumn. Excuse us while we pencil it in…
