Netflix’s hit show ‘Sex Education’ to return for a third season

Netflix’s hit series Sex Education has been renewed for a third season.
The first season received critical acclaim and told the story of Otis and his friend Maeve Wiley who set up a sex clinic at their secondary school, with the help of his unknowing sex therapist mother, played by Gillian Anderson.
The second season – which started airing last month on the streaming site – continued the story of late bloomer Otis Milburn (Asa Butterfield) who will have to learn to manage his newly discovered sexual urges if he wants his relationship with girlfriend Ola to succeed.
During the second instalment, we saw Otis’ gay best friend Eric Effiong (Ncuti Gatwa) and closeted Adam Groff, played by Connor Swindells, cement their relationship and go public together.
We also saw the introduction of brand new characters including Attitude cover star Sam Outalbali as French student Rahim who initially begins a relationship with Eric.
New cast and characters also included Chinenye Ezeudu as super intelligent Viv and George Robinson as Isaac who moved into Maeve’s caravan park.
And now, in a special featurette, we see headteacher Mr Groff (played by Alistair Petrie) guiding us through the Moordale High art exhibition, and reveals Sex Education season 3 is coming.

In Attitude’s Body issue – out now to download and to order globally – Sami reveals that Rahim’s confidence is a far cry from his own school years.
“[Playing a character who’s as confident as Rahim] is kind of a revenge on school, on all those years when I went back on the first day and was like, ‘Oh my God’, feeling shy and trying to make the least possible noise and not be seen,” he says.
“So being able to cross the hallway with my head up, proud and confident as Rahim, is a pleasure.”
“I’m proud to help normalise [interracial teenage gay relationships],” says Sami of work on Sex Education, a show which has garnered widespread acclaim for showing a diverse range of characters and representing many different sexualities (season two introduces storylines about pansexuality and asexuality)
“I hope that – let’s be optimistic – two years from now, we don’t even need to have that discussion about, ‘Am I or am I not?’, says Sami.
