Proving definitively that 2018 is the year gay movies went mainstream, Netflix has unveiled the first trailer for its new original LGBT teen comedy Alex Strangelove.
In our first look at the feel-good film from producer Ben Stiller, we meet high school senior Alex Truelove (Daniel Doheny) who is preparing to lose his virginity to his girlfriend Claire (Beach Rats‘ Madeline Weinstein).
However, things soon get complicated when he meets a handsome and charming gay kid from the other side of town (Antonio Marizale).
Set to begin streaming on Netflix from 8 June, Alex Strangelove has been descrbied as “a fun, funny, and flirty film located down the street from Pretty in Pink, around the corner from Superbad, and right next door to new neighbor Love, Simon.”
We can’t wait!
