Newlywed Kieron Richardson reveals baby plans

He might have only tied the knot last month, but Hollyoaks star Kieron Richardson has admitted he’s already got his sights firmly set on becoming a dad.

The 29-year-old married his long-term partner Carl Hyland in a star-studded ceremony in the Peak District two weeks ago, and has revealed to the Daily Star that the couple have already found a potential surrogate mother.

“We really want kids,” he said at the TV BAFTAs. “We have a surrogate now so we are hoping to go down the baby route in January.

“We haven’t got a number of children we want in mind. One would be amazing but I know that it’s not always possible so we are hoping for one and fingers crossed.

“To be honest one is enough. And if that fails then we will definitely do adoption.”

Of his wedding ceremony, which was attended by fellow cast members including including Stephanie Davis, Jennifer Metcalfe and Jorgie Porter, Richardson said: “I’ve been to loads of weddings and as a gay man I’m always like ‘oh my God that wedding dress is beautiful’ and I thought when people come to mine they are not going to get that.

“So I got 12 bridesmaids and wedding dresses and then I was like I know let’s get a catwalk built so it was amazing.

“I know it sounds camp. Actually it sounds horrendous and trashy but it was really classy and speaking to all the cast it was the best wedding ever.

“The pictures are nice but they don’t do it justice. The inside was so much classier.”

Meanwhile, show bosses have revealed a new love interest for Kieron’s Hollyoaks character Ste Hay, in a storyline which looks set to rock his relationship with onscreen husband John Paul McQueen (James Sutton).
