Nick Grimshaw: ‘Being 30 is like being 90 in gay world’

Nick Grimshaw has revealed that he doesn’t use Grindr as he hates going on dates.
The BBC Radio 1 DJ also said that he feels old as “being 30 is like being 90 in the gay world”.
Speaking to the London Evening Standard magazine, he said: “I really hate dates. So I’ve always taken my dates out with everyone and then I get drunk with my friends, and they’ll be like, ‘Thanks for ignoring me all night.'”
Meanwhile, Grimshaw also said that Eminem and David Beckham were the two famous men who made him realise he was gay as a teenager.
He added that his habit of dressing up as Tina Turner as a child meant that he didn’t really have to come out to his family.
“I used to dress up as Tina Turner when I was six. I got less attention when the football was on because everyone in my family is a die-hard Man United fan. I remember one time putting on every single necklace that my mum had, Y-fronts and boots, and dancing in front of the TV,” he said.
