Nick Jonas promises ‘big surprise’ for gay Kingdom character
By Will Stroude
Nick Jonas’s Kingdom character Nate Kulina might have only been confirmed as gay in the US boxing drama’s season one finale, but the 22-year-old Jealous singer has teased there’ll still be a “big surprise” in store for viewers in season two.
Viewers last saw Nate being rejected entry to a gay club before drunkenly engaging in a sex act with another man, and Jonas has now confirmed he’s already filming follow-up scenes which are due to air later this year.
“We just started [filming] a week and a half ago, which is why I’ve shaved my head,” Jonas told Digital Spy.
“I do know where it’s going but I can’t say because it’s going to be a big reveal and surprise.
“It’s great writing, really honest and personal, and I’m just excited for people to see it and be able to tell the story in the way we’re telling it.”
Kingdom was renewed by Direct TV last year for a 20-episode second season, with 10 episodes set to air in the autumn and the remaining 10 to air 2016.
In fairness that’s an awful long time to wait, so for now here’s a little reminder of that fantasy-fulfilling scene from season one…
