Noah Galvin regrets his ‘unkind and dumb’ Vulture interview
You probably remember Noah Galvin’s interview with Vulture earlier this summer that caused a lot of controversy.
In the interview Galvin blasted Colton Haynes, describing his coming out as “p*ssy bullsh*t”, and criticised Eric Stonestreet for his portrayal of Cameron in Modern Family.
He also made some controversial comments about Hollywood director Bryan Singer, which have since removed, before issuing an apology to the three men and his own fans.
Galvin has now addressed the interview once more in a written essay and explained how he regrets his comments, according to NewNowNext. He wrote:
“In an interview I gave some months ago, I abandoned my responsibility to promote The Real O’Neals and what it stands for. I engaged in a gossip sesh where I critiqued people who hadn’t dealt with their sexuality to my liking.
He adds, “That was unkind and dumb – two things I have always tried not to be.”
“People who are already out – particularly those who haven’t experienced intense hardships when coming out as gay, lesbian, bi or trans – have a responsibility to make things safer for others who may be struggling, and out people in the public eye are in a good position to help.”
However Galvin intends to advocate for his peers in order to “tear down the walls of conformity”.
