Olly Alexander has teamed up with the Pet Shop Boys for a brand new single.
Earlier this year the openly gay frontman of Years & Years joined the iconic 1980’s pop-synth duo Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe in the studio where they teased a new collaboration.
Now, the brand new single ‘Dreamland’ – the first track to be taken from the synth-pop icons forthcoming album – has been released.
Writing on Twitter, the Pet Shop Boys wrote: “Pet Shop Boys have today unveiled their brand new single “Dreamland”, feat. @yearsandyears.
“The single was written by Chris Lowe and Neil Tennant with Olly Alexander, who also duets with Neil Tennant on the track.”
In a statement on NME, the band said: “We have had a busy year finishing our new album with Stuart Price and writing songs for Musik and My Beautiful Laundrette.
“We’ve also toured the Far East and are looking forward to bringing our biggest hits together in a new tour next year.
“It’s so exciting that our new single is a collaboration with Years & Years, one of the most original and successful bands to emerge this decade, and we really enjoyed writing and recording it with Olly Alexander.”
