Olly Alexander’s manager addresses Doctor Who casting reports in brilliant statement
"I’m afraid I have to exterminate this speculation"

Olly Alexander and his manager Martha Kitt have poured cold water on reports he is to be the new Doctor Who – albeit in a show reference-filled statement that is sure to please fans.
A flood of reports named the Years & Years star the frontrunner to take over the role from Jodie Whittaker last weekend.
According to The Sun, he was being championed for the part by It’s A Sin creator Russell T. Davies, who famously spearheaded Doctor Who‘s 00s revival.

Said a source: “Russell was impressed with his work and felt he was a great fit for the Doctor.
“It’s definitely happening, he’s just had to keep quiet about it while negotiations were finalised.”
“Olly is often contacted by cybermen”
However, a statement subsequently shared to Kitt’s social media reads: “Even though Olly is often contacted by cybermen, I’m afraid I have to exterminate this speculation. As nice as it is to see interest in this story regenerate. It just isn’t true.
Kitt continued: “As ood [sic] as it might sound. Olly is focusing on his music. For the time being.”

Olly’s It’s A Sin character Ritchie at least joined the world of Doctor Who after the jobbing actor was seen working as an extra for Dalek battle scene for one memorable episode of the show.
Olly – who has also acted in Skins and God Help the Girl – is perhaps best known as a musician, and hits including ‘King’ and ‘Desire’.
