One Direction’s Louis angrily insists that he’s not gay
By Sam Rigby
One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson has hit out at a journalist, who he thought was speculating about his sexuality.
On Monday (November 10), The Independent ran a story claiming that Tomlinson had supported Apple’s gay CEO, Tim Cook, by wearing a T-shirt featuring the rainbow version of the company’s logo.
However, the singer apparently felt that reporter Jenn Selby was suggesting in the article that he is gay, prompting a series of angry messages on Twitter last night.
The 22-year-old wrote that it is “fucking ridiculous” that he has to address his sexuality, but insisted that he is straight. Read his posts below:
@JennSelby The fact that you work for such a ‘credible’ paper and you would talk such rubbish is laughable. I am in fact straight.

@JennSelby Google ‘original apple logo’ and you will see the one printed on my shirt that you reported on. Trying to look for a promotion ?

Selby responded to the singer’s messages, pointing out that at no point did she speculate about his sexuality, and that she was merely applauding his apparent support of Cook. Read what she had to say below:
Hi @Louis_Tomlinson thank you for your tweet. I’m sorry you found our article in any way insulting…

… @Louis_Tomlinson We were merely speculating as to whether you’d shown your support to a brave man facing some persecution…

… @Louis_Tomlinson That being called ‘gay’ should never be insulting & that standing up for #LGBT rights is an admirable thing to do…

Last week, Tomlinson’s bandmate Harry Styles fuelled speculation that he could be bisexual by saying that the gender of a potential partner doesn’t matter to him – read more here.
Cook – who replaced the late Steve Jobs as Apple’s CEO – recently said that he is “proud” to be gay – read the full story here.
