seventh season is “likely” to be its last, says the show’s executive producer.
The acclaimed US sitcom starring Amy Poehler is currently midway through its sixth season on US network NBC.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Michael Schur discussed the future of the show, saying: “It’s fairly likely that next year will be the last.
“The natural rhythm of the show and the big creative jump we take at the end of this season certainly suggests that we’re moving in that direction.”
In the UK, BBC Four has picked up the rights to season three of Parks and Recreation and will start showing these episodes later this year.
Parks And Recreation follows the trials and tribulations of the town planning department in the fictional locale of Pawnee, Indiana. Earlier this year Poehler won the Golden Globe award for ‘Comedy or Musical Series – Actress’ for her role as Pawnee councilwoman Leslie Knope.
