Phoebe Bridgers announces debut acting role in horror movie I Saw the TV Glow
Non-binary writer-director Jane Schoenbrun called the cast the "coolest, wildest (and queerest) anyone has assembled in a minute".

Phoebe Bridgers has landed her debut acting role in the upcoming A24 horror movie, I Saw the TV Glow.
The 28-year-old bisexual singer rocketed to fame with the release of her debut 2017 album Stranger in the Alps followed by her 2020 record Punisher.
“Big news!! Behold the cast of I SAW THE TV GLOW, which if I might humbly brag is the coolest, wildest (and queerest) cast anyone has assembled in a minute,” non-binary writer-director Jane Schoenbrun shared online at the news of Bridgers’ casting.

They added: “I cannot wait for everyone to see the incredible work we all made together!!”
Bridgers will star in I Saw the TV Glow by way of her role in Haley Dahl’s Avant-rock act Sloppy Jane, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Making up the rest of the cast is Justice Smith, Brigette Lundy-Paine, The Wilds‘ Helena Howard, Snail Mail’s Lindsey Jordan, Limp Bizkit’s Fred Durst, and Danielle Deadwyler.
I Saw the TV Glow‘s synopsis reads: “two teenage outcasts, played by Smith and Lundy-Paine, who bond over their shared love of a scary television show.”
“However, the boundary between TV and reality begins to blur after it is mysteriously canceled,” it continues.
Snail Mail’s Jordan shared their excitement for the project on Instagram, writing: “just honored beyond belief to announce that i’m acting in the fucking genius Jane Schoenbrun’s new movie”.

Schoenbrun’s previous LGBTQ+ horror film, We’re All Going to the World’s Fair, received glowing reviews out of its 2021 Sundance Film Festival premiere and the film holds a 90 percent critic’s score on Rotten Tomatoes.
Via Schoenbrun’s Twitter, it seems that I Saw the TV Glow has already wrapped filming but so far there’s no news don’t the film’s exact release date.

The ‘Motion Sickness’ singer is currently dating Normal People‘s Paul Mescal who is lined up to star opposite Fleabag‘s Andrew Scott in Andrew Haigh’s adaption of Japanese novelist Taichi Yamada’s 1987 ghost story, Strangers, as well as appearing in the gay romantic drama The History of Sound playing the lover of God’s Own Country‘s Josh O’Connor’s character.
