Pixar has debuted its first ever gay lead character.
The studio behind beloved animated films including Toy Story and Monsters Inc. released new short film Out to Disney+ last week (22 May) in a vital milestone for the company.
The nine-minute feature tells the sweetly uplifting of a man who is not yet out to his parents, and finds his mind magically switched with his dog when they unexpectedly come to visit.
Directed and written by Steven Clay Hunter (Finding Nemo, WALL-E) and produced by Max Sachar (Coco, Toy Story 3) Out is the first Pixar and Disney short to feature a LGBTQ lead, storyline, and same-sex kiss.
