Pose star Angelica Ross has joined the cast of American Horror Story: 1984.
Following news that series regulars Evan Peters and Sarah Paulson will not be returning for the ninth instalment of Ryan Murphy’s hit anthology series, fans have been left wondering who will be filling in the shoes of these two stars – who have been in every series from the start.
When the ninth season was announced, Emma Roberts was revealed to be returning to the franchise with newcomer Olympian Gus Kenworthy as her onscreen boyfriend.
And now, Ross – who stars as Candy in the hit show Pose – has revealed she will be joining the cast for the new series set for release this September, making this the first trans actor to star in the series.
Writing on Twitter, Ross said: “I am ELATED to make history as the first trans actor to secure 2 series regular roles, leaping from #PoseFX to #AHS1984.
“Thank you @MrRPMurphy for the gift of playing Candy & creating my newest role on American Horror Story! I’m so honored & excited to join the @AHSFX family!!!”
