could feature multiple versions of Michael Fassbender.
According to renowned US movie website The Wrap, the sequel is expected to feature numerous ‘David’ androids – the character played by Fassbender in the original – meaning the Irish-German actor could be seen on screen alongside himself.
The film is a sequel to Ridley Scott’s Prometheus, which was released in 2012 to middling commercial and critical success. Green Lantern screenwriter Michael Green has been brought in to rewrite the script, The Wrap reports, with shooting expected to start this autumn.
The Wrap is also reporting that Prometheus 2 has been earmarked for a March 2016 release – though this has yet to be confirmed by makers 20th Century Fox.
Fassbender was nominated for an Oscar earlier this year for his role in 12 Years a Slave – but lost out to Jared Leto for his performance as a transsexual prostitute in Dallas Buyers Club.
Meanwhile, Fassbender has recently said he would always be open to playing a gay role in the future.
