2022 is kicking off with a whole lot of Jonathan Van Ness, as not only is Queer Eye returning for a sixth series, Jonathan Van Ness is getting his own show too! Can you believe?!

The Queer Eye grooming expert’s popular podcast, Getting Curious, is moving to Netflix with JVN set to continue finding out more about what makes him curious.

The new show is being produced by World of Wonder of Drag Race fame and is expected to debut on the streaming service in January 2022.

“We are getting FED in the new year!”

As reported by Entertainment Weekly, an official description for the show reads: “From skyscrapers to bugs, or from gender identity to snacks, each episode follows Jonathan as he meets with experts in various fields to uncover complexities in a wide range of subjects.”

EW reports that the show will follow on from JVN’s podcast, which predates Queer Eye, with each episode focusing on a new subject for JVN to familiarise himself with.

Reacting with his characteristic frenzy and enthusiasm JVN posted on Instagram on Wednesday (15 December): “I have been working towards this moment for almost ten years and it’s finally here!! My first ever solo network TV project created and Executive Produced by yours truly is here!

JVN’s fellow Fab-Five members – Antoni Porowski, Karamo Brown, Bobby Berk, and Tan France all commented with their excitement.

Brown’s comment, “So happy for you! It’s a hit y’all get ready to laugh and learn!” indicates he may have seen at least a glimpse of the show already. Either that or he’s as confident as we are it’ll be a hit!

Fans were equally as excited by the announcement, with one person tweeting: “We are getting FED in the new year!”

The sixth series of Queer Eye is set to land on Netflix on 31 December and will see the Fab Five arrive in Texas. Filming was paused by the pandemic but had begun shortly beforehand.
