Queer singer serpentwithfeet has dropped a brand new single, ‘seedlees’.
The track is the third to be lifted from the Baltimore-born musician’s eagerly-anticipated full-length album soil, which is set for release this Friday (June 8).
serpentwithfeet – realname Josiah Wise – opens up about the inspiration for the new record in our Summer issue – available to download and in shops now.
“I’m writing about situations that maybe are not my favourite but I still want there to be some redemption there. I never want it to seem as if I hate these men that I’ve been with, or I carry venom for them. I don’t think that’s fair.
He continues: “Some people have asked if its a heartbreak album but I think it’s joyous, in the sense that I’m able to ask questions.
“I think that’s a gift in itself: to wonder and to ask clear questions of myself or my partner, and to say the things that I’m frustrated about or confused by.
“I wasn’t always able to do that in my life.”
