Real Housewives star in court after ‘punching Sinitta at sushi restaurant’
It’s notorious for stirring up the on-camera drama, but it was an off-camera incident that has seen two stars of the The Real Housewives of Cheshire attend court this week.
The Westminster Magistrates’ Court heard Dawn Ward allegedly punched former So Macho singer Sinitta Malone in a Sushi restaurant argument last April, reports Metro.
The row started after Ward threw a napkin and threatened to “glass” the ’80s star in the Salmontini le Resto restaurant, as the pair had met to clear the air over an earlier spat.
“Ms Malone and Ms Ward argued and during that argument Ms Ward made physical contact with Ms Malone’, prosecutor Christian Wheeliker the court.
“First of all she shoved me in my chest,” said Malone while testifying.
“The second time was like sort of hitting me in the face. At the same time I was quite shocked because I didn’t really know what had happened, because I didn’t really expect it to happen at all.”
Sinitta said that following the incident Dawn left her with the bill, storming out of the London restaurant and shouting, “you can buy my champagne, bitch”.
Dawn’s legal representation, Lisa Judge, told the court Sinitta only reported the incident after her messages tweeting following in lawsuit threats.
She added thatMalone leaked details of the attack to the media to “fuel her own publicity” in “one big publicity stunt”.
Media personality Lizzie Cundy was present at the sushi restaurant during the incident and was called to give evidence. She said while Dawn had used her fingers to push against Sinitta and ‘shove’ her, she denied it was an assault. “It wasn’t a punch, it was a finger,’ she said.
Dawn also denied a single count of assault by beating after the incident.
Posting to Twitter, Sinitta asked her fans to “pray” for her.
“Pray for me today please everyone ! Nothing medical, but a principle.”
