By Ryan Love
RedOne has spilled details on his reunion with Lady Gaga in the studio.
The producer behind hits including ‘Just Dance’, ‘Poker Face’ and ‘Bad Romance’ is currently working with the star on her next album, the follow-up to 2013’s Artpop.
“Right now I’m again working with Lady Gaga – it’s been a big thing for both of us,” he told The National.
“We took a little break from each other and now it feels like we are in a good place, both of us. She did her thing, I did my thing, and it feels like we’re back on track together.”
RedOne, real name Nadir Khayat, confirmed that he expected to be working on the project throughout the rest of the year, expalining that he was “fully committed until we’re done”.
“We’re just going to work on writing songs – 20, 30, 40 songs – until we get hopefully the best album of the decade. The new material feels great. And that’s what it is like with me and her – when we both feel great, it’s incredible.
He added: “A lot of it is to do with trust, no ego, just love for the music. And when it’s fun and respectful, putting the egos aside, it’s magic.”
Lady Gaga, who has recently been promoting her collaboration with Tony Bennett, will perform at the Oscars in Los Angeles tonight (February 22).
