Renée Zellweger wins Best Actress Oscar for ‘Judy’ and pays tribute to ‘hero’ Garland
Zellweger is officially a two-time Oscar winner.

Renée Zellweger has won the Oscar for Best Actress for her remarkable turn as Judy Garland in Judy.
The Hollywood actress, 50, completed her awards season clean sweep with victory at the Academy Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday (9 February).
Zellweger who is now a double Oscar winner after receiving the Best Supporting Actress Oscar in 2004 for Cold Mountain, dedicated her award to Garland, who died in Londono in 1969 aged 47.
“When we celebrate out heroes, we’re reminded of who we are, as one people, united”, she said.
“Though Judy Garland did not receive this honor in her time, I am certain that this moment is an extension of the celebration of her legacy.”

“Though Judy Garland did not recieve this honour in her time, I a certain this moment is an extension of the celebration of her legacy that began on our film set.
“And [It’s] also representative of the fact her legacy of unique exceptionalism, and inclusivity, and generosity of spirit, it transcends any one artisitic achievement.
“Ms. Garland, you are certainly among the heroes who unite and define us, and this is certainly for you. I am so grateful. Thank you.”
