Season three might be two and a half months away, but we’re already getting excited about our return to Riverdale with the news that Kevin Keller will be getting a boyfriend in upcoming episodes.
The gay high school student (played by Casey Cott), who viewers saw experience the delights of crusing last season, is set to embark on a “complicated” relationship with closeted classmate Moose Mason (Cody Kearsley), who he was last seen kissing in the season 2 finale.
“We are dating in season three, so it’s fun to start off with that and explore that with Moose. It’ll be fun,” Cott told TVLine at San Diego Comic Con this week.
“The actor who plays Moose is such a great guy, I love working with him.”
Cott added that Moose’s relationship with his sexuality would shape this pair’s relationship over the course of the season.
“I [filmed] my first kissing scene of the season recently and it was in the hallway at school,” he explained.
“He pushes me off because he’s still closeted, but it’s still a kiss. It’s a complicated relationship.”
Riverdale season three premiere on Wednesday 10 October at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW in the US, and is expected to begin streaming on Netflix in the UK around the same time.
