Ronan Keating joins cast of West End show ‘Once’
By Josh Haggis
Ronan Keating is to join the cast of West End musical Once.
The Olivier award-winning production opened in 2013 and is based on the 2007 Oscar-winning Irish musical film of the same name.
Keating will play the role of Guy, an Irish busker who begins a romantic relationship with a young Czech mother after the pair bond over their love of music and songwriting.
In a press release, the Boyzone singer said:
“I’ve never performed on the West End and this is a huge challenge and commitment. I’m really looking forward to returning to London later this year and completely sinking my teeth into the role. I think there’s going to be lots to learn and lots to gain from this experience and I just want to be the absolute best that I can be.”
Keating is a member of much-loved Irish boyband Boyzone, and has also enjoyed a successful career as a solo artist with hits including Life Is a Rollercoaster and When You Say Nothing At All. Recently, he has served as a judge on the Australian version of The X Factor.
He will begin his Once run in November, and continue through until March 2015.
Tickets for the show are available now here.
