RuPaul crowns season 7 Drag Race winner

Last night, the season seven finale of RuPaul’s Drag Race aired on Logo, and saw a new drag queen take the crown from season six winner Bianca Del Rio.
The three finalists Ginger Minj, Pearl and Violet Chachki all competed in the Orpheum Theater in Los Angeles last night in an attempt to steal the prestigious title of America’s Next Drag Superstar.
After lip syncing for Ru, interviews with stars of the drag world and seeing highlights from the season, Violet Chachki was eventually crowned as the winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race season seven.
Winning the all important title isn’t the only prize though, as Violet will also receive a $100,000 cash prize, a year’s supply of Anastasia Beverly Hills Cosmetics and obviously, a bejewelled crown fit for a queen!
Kayta Zamolodchikova was also honoured at the show when she was given the title of this year’s Miss Congeniality, with Ru wishing her “con-drag-ulations” before she thanked her fans in Russian.
Mama Ru was in London just last week to crown her UK Drag Race ambassador.
