‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ replaces ‘You’ve Got She-Mail’ joke

By Josh Haggis

The latest season of RuPaul’s Drag Race will not feature the show’s iconic line ‘She-Mail’ pun.

Last year, the show came under fire after a challenge entitled ‘Female or She-male’ asked the contestants to guess whether a photo showed a cisgender (non-trans) woman or a former Drag Race contestant.

LOGO TV, the US network behind Drag Race, later apologised for the segment and announced the removal of the term “She-Mail” from future episodes of season six.

Now, it has been revealed that the iconic “You’ve got She-Mail’ phrase has been completely removed from all future editions of the show.

To signal the announcement of a new challenge, contestants in the new series – which begins today (March 2) in the US –  will instead hear the line: “She done already done had herses”.

Meanwhile, RuPaul graces the cover of Attitude’s latest Style Issue, which is available to download to your mobile, iPad or tablet device now, at Pocketmags.com/Attitude.

The issue will be out in shops next Thursday (March 5) and you can also have it delivered directly to your door at newsstand.co.uk.
