RuPaul’s Drag Race is back, and after a year to forget, season 13 is set to usher in a better 2021 when it arrives on VH1 on January 1 in the US.
After the 13 queens competing for the title of America’s Next Drag Superstar were revealed last week – including the franchise’s first-ever trans male contestant – the first official trailer is promising some sick’ning twists and turns to keep the girls on their perfectly-manicured toes.
“I hope you like surprises – I’ve got a big one”, RuPaul declares in the new 60-second teaser. “We’re kicking off with SIX lipsyncs for your lives.”
Could season 13’s opener be about to top season 12’s Nicki Minaj ‘I’m That B***h’ rap challenge? It looks like we’ll be gagged and gooped either way.
The season 13 trailer also gives us a glimpse of Michelle Visage back in action behind the judges’ table. The Drag Race matriarch and current Attitude cover star recently picked up the Ally Award, supported by Jaguar at the 2020 Virgin Altantic Attitude Awards, powered by Jaguar, where she gave a moving acceptance speech on how to be a better ally.
