Rylan ‘doesn’t want responsibility’ of being part of first gay couple to host This Morning

By Fabio Crispim

On Monday (June 27) we reported that Rylan Clark-Neal and husband, Dan are set to host This Morning, becoming the first gay couple to do so in the show’s 28-year history.

The couple will cover for regular hosts Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford while they are away on holiday next month, and earlier his week Rylan made an appearance on the show to discuss the news, admitting that while he’s feeling nervous about hosting the show, husband Dan is “alright” about it.

“We came in not long ago and did a fake show. Apart from him crashing the weather link, he did really well,” Rylan joked.

“The papers are making a big deal saying we’re the first ever gay couple, and yeah it is, [but] I don’t want to hold that responsibility. We’re just two people coming in to present the show and we’re really happy for the opportunity.”

The 27-year-old ylan also recalled a hair-raising incident from his first stint presenting on This Morning.

“I was really nervous about going on This Morning, but Phil and Holly were brilliant and all I remember is that we just laughed and laughed,” he said.

“The worst thing that happened though, I laughed and laughed SO much my lip burst open and collagen filler started to dribble out.”

Rylan and Dan will make their debut as host on ITV’s This Morning on Friday, July 8.
