Sainsbury’s tried its hand at drag lingo and it was all kinds of cringe
By Will Stroude
Supermarket chain Sainsbury’s tried to get down with the kids earlier today (August 5) with a little RuPaul’s Drag Race lingo.
It all started when one tweeter expressed their disappointment at finding a Marks and Spencer’s next door to a Sainsbury’s, where they had just bought lunch.
Sainsbury’s responded to the tweet, which features a Mariah Carey gif, with a shade inspired by Mariah herself.
M&S? I don't know her. Kip

M&S interjected by reinterpreting the lyrics to All I Want For Christmas Is You (it’s August) in response to Sainsbury’s comments, but then quickly bowed out of the exchange. Probably for the best.

Sainsbury’s cottoned on to the Drag Race reference in David’s response, and boy did they run with it.
