Sam Smith and Calvin Harris announce new single ‘Promises’

Sam Smith and Calvin Harris look set to provide another song of the summer before September arrives with a massive new single.
The musical superstars are set to release their collaboration ‘Promises’ on Friday (August 17), in what will surely be another sure-fire hit for the pair.
Harris, 34, made the surprise announcement on social media on Monday night (August 13), with 26-year-old Sam following suit shortly after.

‘Promises’ comes off the back of Harris’s recent collaboration with Dua Lipa, ‘One Kiss’, which is still riding high in the Official UK Top 40 Singles Chart four and half months after it was first released.
Meanwhile former Attitude cover star Smith, who faced an online backlash from Michael Jackson fans this week after he admitted he isn’t a fan of the late star, is currently promoting his latest single ‘Baby (You Make Me Crazy), from his multi-million-selling album The Thrill of It All.
Given that Sam and Calvin boast a frankly ridiculous 12 UK Number One singles between, we wouldn’t be surprised to see ‘Promises’ riding high in the charts in the weeks to come – we guess we’ll find out once the single drops on Friday…
