Tokyo 2020 might be postponed, but Sam Smith and Demi Lovato look set to rep Team LGBTQ on new single ‘I’m Ready’.
After dropping teasers for the duet last week, the pop superstars have officially announced their new duet by dropping the sporty new artwork for the track, out this Friday (17 April).
The cover at sees Sam and Demi, both 27, dressed in matching white tracksuits and wearing 1st place medals on rainbow-coloured ribbon – perhaps a nod to their respective positions as two of the world’s most visibile non-binary and sexually-fluid stars.
“Incredibly happy to release this song with my gorgeous and talented friend”, Smith wrote on social media on Monday (13 April). “I love you Demi!”
“Can’t wait for you all to hear it THIS FRIDAY.”
Friday will also see the release of the single’s video, directed by award-winning filmmaker Jora Frantzis, who has previously helmed videos for Cardi B and Rosalía.
‘I’m Ready’ is the latest track to be taken from the Sam Smith’s upcoming third album, formerly known as To Die For, which was recently postponed pending a name change in the wake of the coronavirus crisis. Click here to read more.
