Sam Smith: ‘Feel free to squeeze my wax bum’

Grammy award-winning singer Sam Smith has invited eager fans to give his backside a firm squeeze – well sort of.

Speaking at the launch of a wax figure in his likeness at the San Francisco Madame Tussauds, the 23–year-old Stay with Me singer is completely fine with visitors to the iconic waxwork museum giving his figure a cheeky squeeze while posing for a photo.

“I can’t actually believe that I’m going to be in Madame Tussauds. This is the ultimate ‘pinch yourself’ moment,” he said.

“The process was so fascinating and I will never look at a wax figure in the same way again. Thank you Madame Tussauds, and hope you all have fun. Feel free to squeeze my wax bum!”

Smith posted a number of photos to Instagram, posing in selfies with his figure alongside models of Leonardo DiCaprio, Whoopi Goldberg and Neil Patrick Harris.

Located in the museum’s Music Room, Smith is displayed alongside figures of other music industry heavyweights including Adele, Sir Elton John, Lady Gaga and Madonna.

He reportedly donated his suit and shoes to help bring the waxwork to life, spent hours with artists to ensure the doppelganger was accurate.
