Sam Smith finally reveals whether he’ll be performing at the Royal Wedding
The singer said performing at Prince Harry's wedding would be a 'dream'
Sam Smith has revealed he won’t be singing at this year’s Royal Wedding.
Last December, the ‘Too Good At Goodbyes’ singer said he’d like to perform at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s big day, which will take place at Windsor Castle this May.
Smith revealed he was “obsessed” with the wedding and that it’d be his “dream” to perform. Now, however, the 25-year-old revealed he won’t be performing at the event because it’s his birthday, WJB Radio reports.
Speaking on Australian radio show Kyle & Jackie O on KISS FM, Smith said: “That would be amazing, but no, that’s definitely not happening.”
“I won’t be in the UK for the wedding [because] it’s my birthday, I’m gonna be on tour, but I love the weddings,” he added.
When asked if he would accept an invitation to the Royal Wedding, Smith said he wasn’t sure: “I don’t know.
“I was joking ages ago when I said I’d love to, but I don’t know. I don’t think it would be good for me, but I’d love to go and, like, look at the dress.”
Reports now suggest that British singer Ed Sheeran has been approached to perform at the Royal Wedding.
Meanwhile, Smith revealed that he’ll never make happy music despite finding love with 13 Reasons Why actor Brandon Flynn.
